Somewhere in Haystacks, Iowa, a disc jockey on the local “classic rock” station notices the death of Steve Albini. With a few minutes to spare and no obligation to plug the insulting nationwide cash contest for another 10 minutes, he announces Albini’s obituary and mentions Nirvana (the one song the station plays is from the album not produced by Steve) before fading up into Steely Dan’s “Reelin’ In The Years” for the 15th time today.
“I did good”, the disc jockey thinks to himself, not realizing that Steve Albini haaaaaaaaaated Steely Dan. He hated the whole Steely Dan season. Don’t ask why, no one quite knows the reaso… Oh, hold on a minute.
So much for all that. RIP Steve Albini.
